brake drum retaining screws

Question brake drum retaining screws

mine are really stuck and i don't want to strip them cuz that would really suck

is their an easy way or in what ways have you guys gotten them off or unstuck

tried looking with the search function but found no answers

i pounded a #3 phillips bit into the head of the screw and put it in my cordless impact gun and it pulled them out really easily. You can also grind off the heads, knock off the drum, and use vice grips to twist them out.

When I took my GS too get inspected they used a "hammer screwdriver" which I think is close to what whitey85mtu suggested. Its just a screwdriver that is meant to have a hammer whacked into the end of it. it seemed to work pretty well but Im not sure were you can buy them...maybe harbor freight would carry something like that?

I just removed mine this weekend but i have an Impact screw driver. besides spraying them with PB blaster use a phillps screw driver apply loosening pressure and use a hammer to create Impact

i finally got em using pb blaster, screwdriver, and a hammer for beating the **** out of them
never would have had the idea of beating the drums around the screws if you guys hadn't
jogged my memory thanks now i finally can get to finish my 7

invest in an impact driver for screws like that, i have one, works great. vise grip pliers will work too.
