Brake cyl question

Brake cyl question

I have an SS line from Mazdatrix. It is male/female, and the slave is female. Am I missing something? Should not the slave end be male as well as the cyl end?

the end that screws into the slave cylander is male and the end that screws onto the steel line from the master cylander is female.
