Brake Calliper Noise??? HELP
Brake Calliper Noise??? HELP
I have a Series II RX7 1983 model when ever i touch the brake or reverse there is a loud noise that you hear from the rear of the car. A few mechanics said that this is a common problem with Rx7 that the brake calliper locks onto the brake and doesnt release fully. I had the callipers cleaned the noise went a way for a week but then slowly came back all the mechanics said to live with it because even if i buy new callipers they will end up doing the same thing they also said that when reversing to put the hand brake up two clicks it will stop the noise.
I just wanted to know if any one else has the same problem and was able to get it fixed. The noise is like a moaning squeak.
PS Its not the brakes they are fine
Thanks

My '85 does the very same thing when I back up and put on the brakes.
I redid the brakes twice and decided that it was not worth worrying about as the brakes work good even on ice (they brake evenly).
