brake boosters, are 79-80 smaller then 81+

Can anyone confirm that the 79-80 brake boosters are smaller then the later models?

Does anyone know how much smaller the old models really are?

i know you can install a T2 booster in 81-85, but theres not enough room in my SA. so im pretty sure the SA booster is smaller.

79 is really small. 80 is a little bigger.
81-85 is really big.
you cant fit a 81-85 in a 79 or 80.

The '79 booster is tiny. How small do you need? What about no booster at all?

Ask for the 80 they have them. It will fit even though it is a little bigger. I got mine from autozone I think it cost about $100 had it in the next day.

I have the big 85 SE booster, but I am taking it off due to engine clearance issues.

I realize the brakes will be a little harder to push, but I will also get better feel/feedback

no its not. The problem is you will need to relocate the clutch master.

I paid 81.88 for the brake booster, and the core return was 29.99

So in reality I ended up paying

51.89.

not in an 84 chassis, I won't have a problem as they are designed to work with the biggest booster and using the smaller '79 booster gives more clearance all around.

plus I don't have a clutch master/slave either

Perhaps you should work on your reading comprehesion skills, then you would not have written this post. Go back and read between the lines.

I think you still missed the point. Reread post #s 14 and 21. If you read between the lines, you will understand why he needs more clearance than the rest of us, regardless of the body year.
