Box for the carb

I am currently running a system where the fuel mixes with the air before entering the turbo and then goes into the block.(draw through??) i forgot what its called. Anyways. I know that if i try to put a bonnet on top of the carb and run the pressureized air from the turbo through the top of the carb and then to the block the carb will not be able to handle it. I would have to modify the carb right? What if i build a sealed box around the carb so that the pressure is the same on the out side and inside?? has anyone ever done this, and if so does anyone know where i can get one. I will most likely make it myself but i was interested in seeing a pic? I am talking about the stock carb by the way. I will probably get a holly just to make life easier. Its a 79 LE in case you needed to know.
Thanks,
old tex

Here is a place that sells carb hats. They might have what you want or maybe they can build one for you.

The big prob with a blow through on a carb besides getting the mix right is air leaking out the throttle shafts etc. Putting it in a pressurized box will make most things easier including float bowl pressure issues.

I personally don't like carb enclosures. They are bulky and make jet changes a hassle. They have their own set of issues. I.E. throttle linkage, and getting fuel from outside the inclosure to the fuel bowls ($$$$$$$$ in plumbing/fittings). Not to mention they have sealing issues of their own.

I can boost prep a holley for you, PM me if you are interested. Or wait for the writeup I am working on and do it yourself, should be done in about a week.

ok cool i will take that into consideration. Getting the fuel to the inside of the carb is not a problem. I have the fittings to do that.
