Bought a manifold, now for a carb....

I just purchased a 2-peice sidedraft manifold. The question is, can i just buy ANY weber 45 dcoe, like one from a VW adn slap it on, do custom fuel lines and linkage and i'm good to go??? OR do i need a "racing beat weber"

i wouldn't think you need a racing beat. but you do need to get oil through your engine one way or another. unless the manifold has them.

Any Weber will work. The only differences are the jet sizes. Kettlman is correct, you do need oil injection somehow, and most commonly with the Weber this is done through the manifold.

You could either drill and tap bungs, or do what me and my friends do, make a block off plate for the POS oil injection and just add oil to the gas tank every time you fill up. premix has worked really good for us and that way it isnt injected shitty oil from the engine all the time. Also sometimes the stock little pump can stop working and youll probably not notice for a while, this can decrease engine life by quite a bit. Just my opinion, some people dont like to add every time they fill up, but its really not that big of a deal. And with premixing you KNOW that your engine is getting the right amount of oil.
