finally got my idle problem fixed, (high idle never less than 1500rpm after carb rebuild) it's been a while since i've done any work on it. anyways i had the brillant idea of swapping the throttle body off my spare carb onto the rebuilt one. once i had all the linkages figured out, i started her up and it now idles at 850rpm for the first time since last september.
