Bonez 2" racing exhaust

http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/1catalog.cgi?cat=4&part=2
it says 81-83
will it matter if i have a 1980 ?

Bönez Racing 2" Race Pipe w/ Presilencer (81-83 Manual ONLY) $75

Bönez Racing 2" Race Pipe w/ Presilencer (84-85 12A Manual ONLY) $125

i dont have to pass emissions where i live so im not worried about that.
why does one say 12a, and one doesnt ?

Are you planning on getting headers? I beleive the Bonez pipe is designed to bolt to the stock exhaust manifold, but I'm sure you could cut it down if/when you get headers. I can't remember what the thermal reactor outlet looks like (it's under my bench with the rest of the stock exhaust).

For the price, don't forget that you get raped at the border, you could probably get something custom done in 2.25-2.5 " pipe. Around here you'll probably need a pre-silencer with headers if you have any kind of straight through muffler. I have 5 Unnecessay Noise Warnings for my seven. I don't think I've had any trouble since I put in 2 SS presilencers. Straight pipe all the way back is not the answer...oh I'm also accepting bets on how long bcty's car will last straight piped. 2 hours of city driving, is already taken.

Headers for 81-85 12A and 79/80 12A are slightly different. The 80's style has air injection nozzles to feed the thermal reactor, that either need to be welded shut or covered by the header to engine block flange.

I think the answer to the question is yeah it matter becaus it won't be a straight bolt in if you get the race pipe, you may have to add a small section of pipe to connect it to the rest of the exhaust at the rear.
