Bogging issue, have Holley carburetor.
I don't know if its the carb or what. I launch my car and it bogs down for a second, then it takes off. I have the 465 holley, it also happens when I redline and shift to second gear.I get wheel hop.I don't know if the carb needs rebuilt or what so help me out so I can fix this problem.

Josh,
First I changed your thread title so members know what you are looking for in a technical problem.
Did you just install this carburetor set up or has it been on there for a while and now it is acting up?
What type of Fuel pump are you running?
After getting those answers then we would ask. When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced?

Set your pressure at 5psi, if that still gives you issues then go to 6psi. Holley's love higher PSI compared to Nikki's and Weber's. If you get hesitation when you first stab the throttle or when you quick-shift to another gear and stab it, I would recommend a accelerator pump upgrade. Most comes with 30cc AP's, adjust the nut out until the hesitation is gone, then go to 40cc. Adj until needed. You shouldn't have to go above 40cc, unless you have a modified engine. If you do, it is more your tuning than your AP settings.

On 5?! Put that thing on 3 at most! I have never run illumina's (so what I say is what I have heard, disclaimer) but 5 is for flat pavement RACE tracks. 3 is hardcore street, I believe 3... or maybe 2 is what the tokico blues are for an illumina. Having it on 5 is what is causing your wheel hop!

If the jetting has not been changed from what Racing Beat has them set at, then I would say it's more than likely an accelerator pump out of adjustment. The primary jet should be a 52, then maybe you go up or done a size from there. The Holley runs best between 6 to 7 psi. Make sure to check you float adjustment with the car running also. Another thing you need to check is your timing. This makes a big differance on the Holleys. If you are running a stockport with the vaccum advance, set the leading at 8-10 degrees, and the trailing at 18-20. I have found that they like a 10-15 degree split.
