I like the look of bolt-on flares if they have the right wheels and are done well. Its gonna be tough to be original without resorting to ordering overseas parts(Aus).
Heres a couple shots of my custom mods.True,Im using very common body parts, but I made a few tweeks to them in order to be more original.
WingsWest side skirts cut back and blended into the glass fenders.I think these would also look good blended into some bolt-on flares,or even the stock fenders.Gets rid of the vertical "spats" that normally reside on the ends of the skirts.
My Wings West rear skirt cut back into more of a bumper cover. This was necessary because of the lack of rub strips and width of the widebody. Not 100% the way I wanted, but this way leaves it removable in the case of an accident. My original plan was for it to be completely smooth and integrated, which would be costly and difficult to replace if damaged.
And of course the one-off hood scoop.Stuff like this, and other NACA style ducts on the sides/front/hood,can be fabbed with almost no glass work and car be very functional if done right. You just have to keep it tasteful and not do too many.

Thanks!
I put a lot of thought into the final look I wanted.I do appreciate the look of a stock 1st gen,but with my engine/brake setup,I needed more tires.A widebody wasnt in the cards until recently, and I knew I wanted a conservative flare to keep from getting too "mutant" looking.I consider Mariah to be the best quality widebody when it comes to fittment, streetability and keeping with the factory lines.
Not everyone likes the widebody look of my car,but I dont let it bother me because I enjoy all types of first gens.Plus with my GS being a stock wreck when I began,Ive personally been at most all the "levels" of first gen modification,so I know what theyre talking about in terms of what pleases their tastes.

im not such a fan of the mariah wide body kit...but i do like it in your case. i think its a mix of the paint colour (the black breaks up what would otherwise be a large area of red) and the differences made by the headlights and the hot air extractor
very nice...im still thinking about what i want to do with mine. but i have to wait till i have my nice and juicy graduate stipend to play with.
I think if i used a wide body package...i would not install the airdam...i would try to mould the flairs into the stock nose.
