Hey I'm from the peg and have a 302 in my 85. www.grannysspeedshop.com is a great spot to get a mounting kit. There is 2 or 3 other V8 7's in the city. Don't worry about these guys they are jealous.

This club is not only for those who love the RX-7, but for those who love the heart of what makes the RX-7 so unique, the rotary engine. Don't expect too much fan support when you come around talking about tearing the heart of an RX-7 out and putting in an everyday run of the mill piston engine.

Ahhh...don't worry about it. People here have a habit of getting thier panties in a bunch when you put anything but a rotary engine in an RX-7. I personally wouldn't put one in either but to each his own, right?

It's all fun and games until someone blows a head gasket.

I didn't realize this was going to be such a big deal for some people. If you really want a true RX-7 you shouldn't put anything into your car but gas. I don't mean to upset people but I would like to try this.

Its been done many times and there are even conversion kits for doing it. There are many people who aren't big fans of the whole idea, but you are welcome to try it, but if you are going to go V-8, go big, like a 423 or something Also, I think the law says you have to sell your original rotary engine to an forum member within 2 months of pulling the motor.

Ya, by switching to a 302 I helped out someone else who would have scrapped a rust free RX-7. I sold my motor and tranny (65000 miles) for a mere 280 dollars and I even delivered it to Maryland from Manitoba Canada. So, I helped someone out, settle down.
