blown engine?

blown engine?

yea only had my seven for about a week. parked outsidework came to start it and let it warm up for a while befor going home came back out 20 min. later and there was coolant all over the groun and the radiator was smoking. i have driven the car alot since i got it and the temp stayed very low at about a quater checked all the hoses and they seem to be fine any suggestions on what it could be.? thanks

did you check the heater hose near the oil filler neck?

there are 2 heater hoses that come from the block into the firewall...the one near the oil filler neck is usually the culprit because if oil spills on it the rubber begins to break down...i hope you didn't drive it like that because at that point driving the car with no coolant can warp the housings

i just checked everything as far as hoses and the radiator cap and they are all good. but when i started the car after i let it cool and refilled the coolant and let it run for a little while the temp gage goes to about 3/4 then all of a sudden drops to a quarter what is this about.?

maybe you need a new thermastat(sp?) to fix the issue with the temp acting screwy and there has to be a place that the coolant came out of if you can run the car let it run for a while and just watch the engine and underneath the car

if its a 13b there are 2 more coolant lines under the dynamic chamber/throttle body...if its a 12a then i'm stumped...good luck

I'm having a problem with this too, my cooling system cools TOO well. I never get above a quarter on the guage, and thats with the electric fan off.

whent out and got new thermostat and radiator cap but when i whent to put the cap on the radiator there is all kind of hard white pieces. i dont know if these are the prob but i knew it cant be good?

On my se sometimes when i park on an incline coolant will just leak out. I have no clue why it does it, and ive checked hoses adn resevoirs and they all seem fine
