Blown apex :(
It happened again yesterday on the drive home. This is a pain. I pulled over at a gas station and ran some ATF and 2-cycle though it. Got it started and seemed to come and go. Power to 3k rpms and then it would rev down to 2k. A little while later back to 3k and then back down to 2k.
It is really strange. so I figured I would try and head home. Took my foot off the gas and started picking up my tools and putting them back in the car. Car shuts off and will not start again. So I called the Wife to come and get me. I tinkered with it while she was on the way.
pulled the 2 leading plugs and turned her over for about 20-30 secs. put the plugs back in, btw the plugs were dry when i pulled them. She fired right up and ran great. Drove down to little 5 ate some pizza, and she drove home great as well.
I'm really at odds with what is going on.

fuel pump change it happened when i got my gs thought i was crazy but that what it was. i wish when it was a fuel pump it would just stop working so people knew they had to fix it. but these cars are good some time and bad others with parts like that. wish that piece was mechanical.

so I changed the fuel pump out with the one on the GS before it got towed.
it still didn't fix the issue though. It is really strange though. I did get it running when I was in little 5 for about 10 miles. Had great power, then went to get back in it after eatig and lost al power again. going to try some BG cleaner.

@Kentetsu - well, no. When I can get it cranked, It is ok as long as there is no load. If i let it get below 2k rpm then it starts. at 1k it is really bad shake, but the motor is dieing and trying to cut off as well.
@RXnos1200 - not each face, but 100 on the rear housing and 50 on the front. that is max of anyone of the faces.
I did do some work on it this weekend and got compression some what restored. I'm not sure what all it did, ATF, BG injector/carb jet cleaner. rotated the motor by hand, turned it over quite a few times. Got it started and idling around 3k and more atf and cleaner, with motor running... then i proceded to pore 2-cycle into the carbs 1st primary until it almost died. Then again and again.. you get the image.
So i took it for a spin. Great power again.. let it run down the road in 2nd around 6k for a while and then turned around and did it again. Drove it to the store, didn't turn it off and drove it back. btw i did adjust the idle to around 1k rpm. I know it stayed running.
I let it sit for about 4 or 5 hours and tried to crank it again. No go. I think that I may have toasted the battery with all of the cranking and crap. Not sure though. but If i get a good charge on it I might turn over again and fire up. I might need new sparks as well, all of the firing trying to crank it and with all of the stuff i have pored into the carb i'm sure they can use it. Will see though, I am not ready to by new plugs yet. Would rather see it run on what it has first before I pore more money into the carb(pun).

speeking of rough idle (I don't mean to threadjack!) my 7 sometimes idles perfect at 750-800, but at others it goes straight to a really low rpm, like I mean 100!!! sometimes i stop at a light and it idles at about 750 for about 10 seconds, then drops to about 100-150. I was thinking I should just adjust the idle speed, but the fact that sometimes it idles fine doesn't really lead me into thinking adjusting idle speed will help. oh and just so I don't steal the thread from wodihor, Seafoam is GOOD!
well I have done a few things and somethings that maybe shouldn't have done.
Today I pulled and cleaned the plugs again. When I pulled the plugs I had white milky substance on them. turned the motor over some with the plugs out and a bunch of the milky stuff shot out. I don't think that is good because the only think that I know makes milk in a motor is water, and water is bad.
So I wanted to run a more hands on compression test. I filled the primaries up with 2-cycle and turned the motor by hand. As I turned the motor the 2-cycle was pulled in. Now I would get a woosh sound from the second housing, and nothing from the first housing for a few spins of the alt. I use the alt to turn the motor by hand.
After a few time I started to get a woosh from the primary, not nearly as big as the secondary. So I am going to conclude that after the ATF, running Seafoam through the motor about 2 or 3 weeks prior to this happening, and BG, which is really good stuff by the way like sea foam, that this motor is dead.
If i let it sit, it will loose compression again. I guess I need to find someone that wants to motor to come and pull it. So that I can get ready to put another one in when I find one. I just hope that the next one last longer.
