Question Blinkers come on by themselves

When I turn the steering wheel in my car to the left, it somehow pushes the blinkers on for the left. Then when I turn it to the right, it turns them off and if I turn a little further, the blinkers for the right turn on. What's causing this? I have a feeling that something has worn out that holds the blinker arm from moving when turning the wheel. Thanks.

you must have some big hands or something!! Kidding, pull the steering wheel off and check the little piece of plastic that makes them work. maybe it broke?

Mine is doing similar crap but with wipers?!?!?!; it's a little plastic piece inside that gets stripped so it just kinda is able to fall out of place at times.....sux.....should be an easy fix though

Is this little piece of plastic noticable if I pull the steering wheel off? It's weird because it was working and all I did was take the steering columb cover off to fix the ignition key light - it's back on now but still moves the blinker whether the cover is on or off. But, I'll try and look around and see if I notice anything.

yeah it's like a whitish, or faded looking plastic piece that the stalk actuall rests in, when the stalk is pushed up or down it clicks up or down ( blinkers for your case )
mine is doing this on the other side so my damn wipers keep wanted to come on. Figure if I take it all apart I should be able to pull it and replace or fix it ( glue maybe ) all it is ...is that thwe plastic the stalk goes into ( whitish piece ) isn't seated well or the little knub that clicks in there is broke....again not too difficult...good luck
