Blinker question

My 82's blinkers never cancel when the turn is done. I just thought that was the way it was. Just reading my owners manual (yeah exciting Friday night here) and it says it should cancel when turn complete. Any1 delt with this? I feel cheated and am tired of looking like one of them old folks going down the road with my damn blinker still on.

Sent from my iPad using RX7Club. how bout that!

The turn signal cluster has two nipples that goes into the back of the steering wheel.as the wheel is turned the ring those nipples are on forces the turn signal lever back to its neutral position. I believe if you'll remove your steering you'll find those nipples are broke.normally they will break if you hit the wheel too hard or if it's been wrecked.
Don't feel bad I've just sat and looked over manuals and brochures on Friday and Saturday nights, except I'm only 25 lol, and yes I laughed to myself at nipples lol.

I just had the same problem on a gslse I'm restoring that had been wrecked. I'm not sure if it's possible to take the turn signal cluster apart to replace that part or not,I ended up just repeating that whole mechanism because I had one already.
