black oil?

I have a question I just bought my 82 rx7, when i changed the oil it was black as night, that was on june the 2nd. Today the 4th i changed it agian because i was told that my oil pressure regulator is clogged from the gunk in the previous oil and that a few oil changes should fix it. But the oil that came out of there now two days later is just as black. Could this black oil be due to bad oil seals. If so is there anything short of a rebuild that i could do to fix this

I'd say that the black oil is actually due to worn apex seals/springs and that you have a whole wack of blowby, contaminating the oil with carbon from the engine. That's been my experience, at least.

Decarbonize the heck outta her she need to be de carboned. Uses "Rislone In the crankcase oil next time you change it. And do the thread called "how to de-carbonize a rotary" I think you just get her running and spray some misty water into the carb. I personally used rislone and cleared out all the oil seal passages and made my oil black. The next time I canged it the oil stayed clean for a week or two.

There is always some old oil that remains each oil change, in the pan, coating the engine and in the oil cooler. This mixes with the new oil and quickly darkens it. Excessive blow by can do the same thing. Pull the oil fill cap off while the engine is running and see if have too much crankcase pressure.
