Do they sell that at auto parts stores? I want to replace my plastic.

I've alway thought that was weather striping adhesive, they sell that I'm sure.

i thinks its a tar compound, but any weatherprrof adhesive will work a tube of silicone caulk??

It's mastic; commonly used in automotive OEM for better rubber-to-metal contact. I hate that stuff.

You can buy that stuff in on cards that have strips of it. It is similiar to what I had to use to set the tail light lense in my Trofeo. Mastic caulk in a tube or an rtv will work. I go an easier route and often use aluminum tape. Holds just as well, easier to get a good seal and much less messy.

Cool thanks. I'll look for some mastic at Home Depot. I guess there are plenty of alternatives, but I don't know, for some reason I like the stock mastic stuff. Just seems sorta old school....helps me keep things stock, too.

you can get it at any automotive paint supply store. just go in and ask for strip caulk or buttle rubber

what about the plastic what kind of plastic is that stuff actually cause i ripped mine out last year and have a garbage bag in there right now

I was just going to check out th hardware store for some clear 6mil or greater vapor barrier.
