the big gush
My heater hose broke!! right at the oil cooler fitting, looked like a pre moulded hose and expensive. So , I removed it, turned it upside down and reattached the un damaged end to the oil cooler. Then trimmed off the bad ,oil soaked stuff, and about four inches of good hose. soldered a 3/4 copper elbow to about six inches of 3/4 copper pipe and shoved it all together , shoved the copper into the undamaged hose and the four inch piece onto the heater end and clamped it up. got the radiator, engine and heater flushed all at once. Something I had been meaning to do this spring anyway. Seabees strike again. all this at no expense.

Hey. You remember the time Mac was riding in a jeep and the return spring for the throttle on the carb broke. So he took a ballpoint pin apart for the spring in it and rigged it to the carb? What a hero.
