Understood. I think there's enough info here for me to figure it out. It's really just the braket used for the 3rd gen caliper I would need to create.

Update.......

I have everything installed but not without fighting with a flaring tool for two days Since I was putting this in an SA I had to convert from the course thread brake line fittings to the fine thread. I figured it would be better to cut the lines, remove the old fitting, put on a fine thread version and then put a new double flare rather than using an adapter. I have never done double flares before and it was waaay more aggrevating than I thought it would be. The first one came out perfect the next one did two, but since I am a dumbass I had neglected to put the fitting on the line before I flared it!!! Arghhhh!!! The next several were for crap. I finally got two that looked halfway decent and have everything installed, leak free so far. Cant post more pics cause my employer blocks photobucket, Ill post later.

Test drive tomorrow!!!!!

Do you have any pictures of the adapter that you had made for the brake mounts?

It takes some practice to make good double flares and of course a good flare tool. Sounds like
you had way too much fun!

Well, went out for a test drive and I am very pleased, after bedding in the pads they feel very good. Good solid stops with no hunting or pulling. No brake imbalance problems. The fronts lockup first just like they should.

Also the ride is much improved, using the SE struts gives me and additional 1.1 inch of suspension travel and you notice that on big hard bumps, doesnt bottom out as quickly as before. Also feels alot better in areas where there are numerous small irregularities. Im guessing this is where the lower unsprung weight helps.

And the icing on the cake is the new wheels show off the calipers nicely, I know that doesnt make it stop faster but looks do count for something!!

I hear ya, im gonna have to come up with something for next year. Nothing quite as unnerving as going into one of those corners only to have very little happen when hitting the brakes Have to fly this year so not having the FB to drive makes me a lil sad. :/

would this brake set up fit inside your black bbs wheels as well or is that part of why you changed wheels?

Just finished replacing all my brake lines as well, bought the brake line flaring tool from Federal Hill. I LOVE that thing, perfect double flares every time (well almost, still gotta pull bonehead moves, not the tools fault). Spendy, but very much so worth it considering all the headaches double flares have given me over the years.

Once I figured out that I had a big bearing rear end rather than the small bearing one I thought I had this was a simple swap to SE axles.

I did have to change wheels cause of the bolt pattern, but I would have had to change anyway cause the calipers would not have fit under the BBS wheels.

Double flares are tricky, therefore I don't do them. I've done a lot of AN flares, so I tend to convert everything to 37 deg single flare. It's much easier, and I've had good results.

When you're a hammer everything looks like a nail.

That's the beauty of that flaring tool. Super simple, fast, and reliable. The OP was having problems with the double flares, so I thought I'd share the only flaring tool I've found that actually works as advertised.

You can say that again!!

I just checked out their website and watched the video of how it works, double flares that a child could make!! If I ever have brake line work to do again I will get one, they even have a cheap rental program!!

Where were you two weeks ago LOL.......

Thanks for the tip...
