Big Brake kit

I know this has been covered 1000 times. I did a search, and found a price. But I was wondering has anyone installed the sevensonly.com brake kit for the FB? I was wondering about the performance, and whatnot. I was thinking about it because I want to turn my 81 into a road race car. I know the FB brakes are good, but can't hurt to have better, especially at VIR with those long straights, and tight corners. Also, I autox when I can. Just need a little input on the kit itself. I know it's pricey, but is it worth the price?

I have the kit, I like it very much. I have the fronts only. Two "bad" things are pedal travel is more than I would like, It's not bad at all but I like a nice "hard" pedal. But the brakes are easier to modulate. Also The back brakes don't do enough, I have the brake bias valve to "full rear" but I still can't get enought from them. But that said; they are great on a track! At IRP I never had fade after 7-8 hot laps. I'm useing Hawk HPS pads right now. Also I'm working on fixing the "problems", I'll let you all know how It works out.

Excellent. I think I'll have to invest in a set, but I think I'm going for all 4 corners. Track only car for the most part. Thinking about doing a PP 12a. Very sweet.

I have the SelectMaz 12" kit with TII calipers. Its about 1100 bucks, uses off the shelf parts and is very firm.I installed a TII master cylinder, prop valve, booster and stock 10" SE rear brakes. Its hauls me down VERY well with good tires and has never faded.
By now, SelectMaz should be offering it with the SE lug pattern, mine has the 110MM pattern with adaptors.

Are all of the kits mentioned for four lug hubs? I'm beginning to get parts together for putting an LS1/T56/Ford 8.8 into my 81 and I'll want to make it a road racing car, however with the power I'm thinking I may need 5 lug hubs.

Steve,
How hard was the conversion to the T-II master cylinder, prop valve, and booster? Any pitfalls or tricks?

Any complicated procedures?

TIA!

Nothing major.
Just need to stack 2 of the aluminum spacers behind the booster to get the right gap for the push rod,and shave a little metal off the side of the clutch master to clear the larger booster can.

Thanks Steve... hey when you get a chance, and if you don't mind, could snap a few pics of the MC set up in your car. I'd like to take a look at it. Whenever is cool... again only if you don't mind.

Thanks,

-Bern

ahh touch-ups... as you're learning, this is something that never seems to end... I just had to accept the fact that if I drove the car, it would get chipped... and I've been happier ever since!

I'll look up the Mazspeed forum, and communicate with you there, if you'd like.

Thanks,

-Bern

Well, technically it was more than a chip repair.
The etching primer used on the top and back quarter was bad,so half the car had to be repainted, mainly the black part(the only parts that were still plain steel).
My painter fired his Dupont rep after 15 years, for not even considering the POSSIBILITY that his product could have been bad (which it was,by every deduction my painter could make).
He is now suing Dupont for the repaint work($7000 bucks)
