FYI this seller (rx-7.audiophile) sent the item to the wrong address then he got it back then refused to refund the purchase price minus the shipping. He is very rude and is not willing to help resolve the issue. i attached a link to one of his item currently on ebay. BUYER BEWARE 6 complaints on his feedback all the same complaint. Just thought i'd warn you. I have filed with paypal.

just watch his auctions and email everyone who bids on his stuff tell them your story have them retract their bids EBAY needs to police them selves put sellers on hold for possable fraud or something

E-mailing bidders to warn them is expressly forbidden by eBay rules. It sucks, I know, but you don't want to do anything that will get you in trouble with eBay.
I'm in favor of the ***-kicking solution, myself.

I'm always leery of sellers that feel the need to say stuff like "this is a binding contract", or some other homespun legalese nonsense. Like people don't know that by bidding they are supposed to follow-through with the purchase.
I've been lucky so far, all the deals I've made on eBay have been great, and the people have been friendly and helpful. I try to buy from people who aren't trying to make a living at it, though.
But I gotta say, 25 bucks for a used 1st gen. door handle is a joke, as is his $10 insurance charge. I probably would not bid on this sellers items.
I actually caught a guy shill-bidding up his own auction once. I reported it to eBay, but they really didn't do much other than pull the auction in question. They didn't suspend him or anything. The bottom line is that you have to use your good sense where eBay is concerned, as eBay will not protect you from unscrupulous people.
I've recently been buying stuff for my FSP Fiesta off the UK eBay site, and I've gotten some outstanding bargains, even with the high shipping cost.

If you want to report this guy for something, the illegal (on ebay anyways) thing he is doing is charging excessive shipping or insurance.
Its called Fee avoidance.....meaning, ebay doesn't earn a penny from what he earns on shipping, and they don't like that.
On the Ebay homepage, there is a link near the top called "Ebay Live." You can speak with a representative from Ebay in a small chat window, and they will give you all the appropriate links to report problems - and it does work.

There are some interesting things you can do to folks like this. I had a problem with an ebay guy, bought a computer and never heard back from the guy. Went through the ebay dispute resolution and got no where because he chose not to respond to the emails. Unless two "power" ebayers get into it, the guy with the highest points wins seems to be the rule so unless you have enough ebay clout, choose you purchasing carefully.
One thing to keep in mind, a lot of these folks hide behind hotmail kinds of email accounts, you know the free ones that you can access from anyplace. What they do not realize is that these accounts send the ip address of the system that submitted the data for the email and is hence traceable.
That is how I got my computer, traced the emails back to a network inside the University of Kentucky, sent an email to the Dean of Student Affairs (or whatever they called it) with the name, address (I had to send the guy a money order), ips within their network along with a request for copies of their system logs. I also explained that it was considered Mail Fraud to conduct fraudulent business across state lines and using university equipment to do so would put UK in an uncomfortable position.
I got a nice letter back from the Dean - the same day - and within 24 hours got an email (from a completely different network this time) with the tracking number of my computer and begging me to contact the Dean so he did not get thrown out of school.
So you should try tracing the emails if you can't get back in touch with the guy.
As for bidding on your own auctions - very illegal on the ebay land and if you catch someone doing it, you should report them immediately. Of course, you can't catch someone bidding under a different name to drive prices up (and there are plenty of folks who do that).

yeah, enable Mime headers in your email program/hotmail.... it gives you the IP adress that the user used when sending the email.... you can then run an "IP Whois" on this site:
www.samspade.org
That will tell you the adress of the server that sent the email at least.... However, it might just tell you the ISP the person is using, like Shaw, or Telus, or whatever internet company they're using. But it also tells you a phone number and adress for the network administrator, and you can usually trace the individual down with help from that person...
