Best tire for a 83 gs with stock rims

What's the best deal for tires ... I made a big mistake on putting Radial T/A's on my car because they were pretty cheap.

I have the stock 13 inches rims, i'm looking for a tire that will stick to the road, i don't take my car when it's raining.

I have goodyear integrity on mine... they aren't the best tire in the world as far as performance... lost control on a wet road doin 60 around a sharp corner when I was drunk, and ended up breaking the bead on the right front... LOL

This is a great question. I'm looking at new tires pretty soon myself and it's hard to get an honest/informed opinion off the 'net. I was thinking about Yohohamas.

yes the sumitomo's are very close to the falken tire, although ive had no experience with them i hear they are comprable in every way, treadwear, speed rating, price and grip. although these tires are good on dry and wet pavement, they are not even rated for the snow!!

Just don't do it yer car aint worth it. snow is not your friend

I agree, the sumitomos htr 200 is a good tire and it's hard to beat the price.

Snow and ice is fun in the rex, last winter was the first one I saw snow since I joined the AF... I had a blast, doin 55 down the highway, and punching the gas. Get nice and squirly, then let off, just to do it again. Only hard part is leaving my house, since it's on a hill.

I use stock size Yokohamas. Very happy with them as daily drivers. Very good wet weather traction, and good compromise for handling. Plus, they're quiet and smooth on the road. The taller wall works well with the stiffer springs. Occassionally, I wish I had gone with a stickier, low-pro tire, but not enough to outweigh the daily benefits of the Yoko's...

I can't rave enough about the Sumitomos. These tires are stupid soft and grip quite well in the wet and the dry. After an afternoon of AutoX, the tread blocks can be squished with a pinky! They're also cheap like borsht and come in great sizes, like 195/6013 and 205/60/13.

I have Sumitomo HTR4's (205/60/13) I love the way they stick over the wheel lip a little bit but dry/wet traction is amazing compared to the 185/70's that were on there before

I've got Yokohama a509s on my 82 in 205/60R13. Not sure if they're still available in the US, I even had to look around a bit here. My workshop recommended them and other RX owners with stock wheels here in Aus are also enthusiastic about them. I've found them to be grippy in the wet and dry and positive and progressive in the wet.

I got sumitomo HTR 200, 205/60-13's and I love em. They stick like glue and made a huge difference in performace.
