Best option?

I have heard that instead of finding a gsl rearend with limited slip I can use the Miata's limited slip from 96-99 or something? Has anyone done this successfully? Also, there is an N/A FC up the street that has been sitting for years, would that car have a rearend I could use?

the whole FC rear end, as in suspension/axle/etc will not fit without major modification.

What about just the limited slip assembly in the FC pumpkin? I do not have to have the whole rearend with disc brakes and everything, I just want LSD.

IF the Miata pumpkin fit in your FC rearend why would you want to use the weak a$$ gears that the Miata has? Please go to Spec Miata.com & search for the issues they have with the weak a$$ gears.

i thought our ring gears were 7" too. so are miata and na fc's. the tii are 8" and so are fd's. interchangable ones are 1st gens, n/a fc's, and miata. wats wrong with the miata gear? its a 4.33 i believe.

So what would you guys recommend? It sounds like trying to find a GSl rear is the easiest solution, but finding one in good shape should be a challenge.
