bellhousing bolt pattern

ok well at least i can post... sorta

Does anyone have the dimensions, or a true to scale photo etc of an rx7 bellhousing for a 1st gen or other car? I am trying to see if another transmission will bolt up.

Thanks

I've seen adaptor plates so you can use supra trannies.... check the austrailian rotary websites.

They have many different tranny options

Good info, will do.

Perhaps, someone has a trans or engine around they could take a photo of, with a ruler next to it for scaling, that might work.

Someone's already done this. I have all the pictures on my computer, but I won't post them because A) they aren't mine and B) they are friggin' huge. They compared a FC N/A trans (which is for all intents and purposes the same as an SA/FB trans - same length/bolt pattern, just different trans mounts and shifter placement) and a TII trans and an FD trans. Also the three types of FC driveshafts - N/A manual, turbo, and automatic. Also the N/A manual and TII starters.

I have a 1976 tranny, a 1985 and a 1988 turbo in my shed. If you still need some pics I can work on then during the next couple of days with measurements and all.
