Looks reallly good. One question I may have missed over these 7 pages, I have always heard that primer does not keep moisture out, it actually lets moisture build up under it. Maybe I am wrong but nobody else has mentioned this. IMO it seems it may be better to use a sealer rather than primer.

Its been talked about in here already. I am going to be putting a sealing coat on sometime this week. Between this project and my engine bay project, I'm keepin pretty busy, but the primer is one issue I need to get workin on ASAP.

I know, I know. I need to finish this. I still have to finish putting the car back together from my last project, you may have seen the thread. I just haven't had time, get home and its dark and cold, and don't have much time to work, so I don't even bother working on it after work anymore. I have this upcoming weekend, maybe I'll get something accomplished. The cars been down for about 5 weeks now.

This is the best time to get it done. You'll really be wanting to drive in the summer instead of working on it. You have a garage, right? Take advantage of that.

Have a garage, but its not for the car unfortunately, with all the tools, and the rolls and rolls of vinyl decal material, and the vinyl plotter. Kinda cramped in there. No biggie, I will get some time this weekend to get the car running. And perhaps get the rear carpet in so I can add those pics to this thread.

Vinyl plotter, hmmmm, and I think to myself what what sort of stickers you should be making for us Club members at a very healthy discount. Have you made any rotary related pieces? If so, post some samples, along with details of the vinyl you use.

I would really love to have a garage so that I can work on my car. Apparently I can't work on my car in my apartment complex. ********. I guess I could understand the whole liability issue.

So its been quite a while since I posted any updates. Well, I finally got around to installing the rear half of my carpet last night. Its not as cold as it has been, and it stays lighter longer when I get home from work, so I figured it was time to start working on the car again.

Well I must say that I am way more impressed with the back half of the A1 Auto carpet than I was with the front half. What I also liked about the back half was the fact that the holes for the metal rail mounting screws were pre-cut, as well as the holes for the plastic clips that hold it to the base of the bins. The fit was great, much better than the front piece was. I haven't cut holes for my bins yet, because I'm probably not putting them back in, I will probably be putting my subs in there, and will leave the carpet as is until that project gets underway. I still have to get the rest of my interior pieces in, but I need to reupholster the parts that go behind the doors and on the B pillars, and headliner. All the plastic has been done in black Color Bond. Enough typing, on to the pics!!

For the hell of it, here's some pics I took last night of the front half again. Looks more "complete" than it did in the previous pics earlier in the thread. The blackness of the dash came out good in these pics.

The Color Bond (black) looks good. What color was it before?
will this stuff wear off over time? Thinking of getting maroon color for mine should I also get the prepp stuff?

Car looks great by the way!

If you dig through the beginning pages of the thread, there is a picture of the color before, which was the gray color, so it wasn't that hard to go to black. I did use the prep stuff from Color Bond, I ordered one bottle for each can of Color Bond, which was WAY more than I needed. It goes along way, and I was using it generously too. They say that it holds up over time, it doesn't rub off or anything. So far the dash held up to the SoCal sun, its my daily driver and is always in the sun at home and work. Not sure how dash/interior protector products will work on interior parts that have been Color Bonded, but am curious to try it out.

Thanks for the info, how far would a can of color bond go? I'm starting at the back plastic molding up to the front seats. Also ordered the back deck carpet from Stock Interiors, but when it came the cut around the hub on the floor was not even close to the orginal shape.
So I cut a pattern on brown paper from the orginal carpet and sent it to them. They cut a new one with a nicer trim around the edge and I recieved it tuesday no charge. except $24 for mailing.

Again nice work on your 7.

Lets see, I think I started out with 3 cans total. That went pretty far, I was surprised. That did the dash, both A pillars, both rear speaker/shock covers, all the rear window trim parts (except the one that goes over the tail lights), the trim where the hatch shocks go, I also did the lower vinyl pieces that go behind the doors, but am going to reupholster them and the door panels instead I will be ordering 2 more cans I think, just touch up the stuff thats been scratched or whatever.

In short, I'd start with 3 cans, and 1 or 2 bottles of prep (depending on how much you plan to prep)
