Battery Relocation

Another install of mine because of $100T2 . I did a battery relocation to the passenger side storage bin. It took a couple of hours and a little planning. I had alot done already because I have my capactior for my stereo was in there already. I used an install kit from Taylor (1 gauge) I pick up from Sumitt for $70 shipped. I also installed a reset able 200 amp breaker and new battery terminals. In total it was $129 to do it, includeding new spades, firewall grommet and little things (I already had the Red Top). Turned out nice and best of all, when I have to work under the hood all I do is flip the breaker and no power!

Where'd you get the breaker connector? I've been using a knife-switch lever on the battery post on mine for quick disconnect, but I like the breaker-reset; makes good sense.

I was just searching for this topic and I saw that you had posted this today. I was wondering if you had a pic of how you connected the positive cable under the hood. I need to replace my battery cables, so i decided to relocate the battery as well. I am planning on getting the battery relocation kit from Summit Racing, but I am not sure how to re-connect the cables under the hood. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It goes from the bat to starter, then starter to fuse box. I run a secound gen box, so it is very easy.

Have you had a chance to run it hard around corners? If so, did you notice any difference in balance of the car?

So you can run a cable from the starter to the fuse box? You don't have to run another cable from the battery to the fuse box/fuseable links like it is factory.

a write up with a few more pics (maybe under the car) would be awesome! Also, how did you connect the battery tray to the floor? I was thinking maybe tac weld to prevent drilling holes in the floor?

You actually have to drill through the floor. They recommend 4 bolts, but I only did 3, the last one basicly would have bin right on top of the ebrake cable undernieth. I kinda like brakes, so that one was not used. And yes you can run from the starter to the fuse box. Just because it goes to the starter does not mean current does not flow. (you don't want to run from fuse box to starter, too much draw for the fuse box. Thats why I'm running a 200 amp breaker on it) Its basicly in series. I got the terminals form Partsexpress. Its an incredable store for stereo and electronics stuff.
