Battery Hold Down?

Okay apparently sometime while my car was at MAACO they undid the battery hold down (probbly didnt know how to start a carb'd car so thought battery was dead...btdt) however went to re-attach today and everytime Id get it tight enough to stop it moving up and down a gentle tug to the side would pull it out. Just for the record its got a J-hook that attaches at the left side of the battery tray, a bar that goes over the top with a bend in the end that lines up perfectly with a hole in the body next to where the radiator mounts. (sry no pics)

I'm surprised MAACO would remove that. They usually just spray over everything, including windows and license plates

I have a similar setup only I use another J-hook on the radiator side since my battery bracket doesn't bolt to the radiator mount. You can hook both J-hooks underneath the metal tray that the battery sits on. The radiator side can be a bit tricky because there's not much room to work. You can find the universal metal bracket and the J-hooks at most auto parts stores. It passes Solo2 tech, dunno if S7 is more picky.

I never have trouble with mine moving, using the stock arrangement.

Do you have the nylon tray under the battery?
