Balks in third gear.....
can someone help me .... I bought an 1985 (12a/carb) last fall ...drove that car home (all is well) parked it for winter...she started fine in January/Feb.
In the last couple of weeks I started her she started just fine. (car not plated yet)
I notice two weeks after, on a wet rainy damp day...she had a problems starting.
I know now needs new plug wires.
I got a her started the next day she ran very rough seemed liked she was flooded or something...then I took it on the highawy...in 1st and 2nd she was ok...but after shifting in 3rd....she balked down...didn't want to take her gas !!!
Any suggestion !!!
Regards

check your ignition system and definitely check your gas. Its funny you brought that up my car 1st Gen is doing the same thing. I noticed it only when it rains or damp. It doesn't happened when its sunny.

my 84, when i put a 12A in it about ayear ago, would do just that, it would start up, run real rough, and be hard to go in 3rd gear... but i never fixed it, i got rid of that junk motor, it leaked and burned more oil than my helper monkey could pour in
