clutch question

well yesterday i went to go look at a possible purchase of an 86 fc.....
besides some minor problems the main problem is the car doesn't move.

now the story was the car was making a noise....he replaced the clutch and it still had the noise.....then the tranny blew...he put in a different transmission and now the car dosent move....i checked the whole hydraulic system and its operating the slave against the clutch fork just fine

now i am stuck on how the car can shift gears without the clutch pedal down and not grind or jump in gear..... maybe their is no clutch??

So you are starting the car, and then freely changing gears?

Thats....quite odd. I would guess its a clutch problem. The only other thing would be if the clutch slave cylinder is the wrong one (n/a vs tii) but I don't know if that would cause that issue.

Yes, is the car running when you change these gears freely without engaging the clutch?
