Bad motor pending compression test.

I just bought an 83 rx7 12A. I am now in love with rotary engines!!! thing is it sounds like its got a vaccum leak or its only running on one rotor, possibly a rotar seal is bad, apex seal is what they are called I think. the family mechanic is doing a compression test right now, when he gets back to me he is probably gonna tell me that i got a bad apex seal. would that be easy and inexpensive to replace? a do it yourself project maybe? also, when I bought the car, the belt to the air pump wasnt there, could that be a problem as well? right now i'm running it with no air filter on, and the two vaccum hoses on the left that lead to the air filter are plugged.

Wrong answer for Mazda. Search, there are a lot of rotary rebuilders on the West Coast....Pineapple etc.

Rotary Resurrection is pretty cheap and good. Though he's all the way out in TN. I'm not sure if Shine does rebuilds........there are a ton of places. Hell, you're in Cali son......... hire an illegal mexican FTW.

Could be any number of things wrong, and a blown motor would be at the bottom of the list in my opinion. Start with ignition and go from there, unless the compression check comes back bad. But then again, can you be sure he did it correctly? And even after that, there is the chance that a seal is just stuck, not broken. Lots to think about here. lol.
