Bad idle, backfires every second, no pickup.

Alright, i installed my msd and finally got everything working, but now my car barely runs. It has no power and it backfires more than it dosen't, and its idle is more like a chain of backfires than anything else. I just got done spraying down my carb with carb cleaner looking for leaks, to no avail. I checked the coils, plugs, wires, fuel filter, ect.. but everything seems to be in working order. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know a thing about the MSD boxes, but I'm alway up for meeting/helping out other 1st gen guys. I work M-F 8-5 but am free most weekends. Can probably get a couple of my other Rx-7 buddies to help out. E-mail me at CrazyJoe24v@yahoo.com.

How could your fuel lines have gotten fucked when you changed your ignition? Seems unlikely to me.

I don't know **** about MSDs, but it sounds to me like your timing or something in your ignition system is severely messed up. You must have done something wrong when you set this up. I think you should recheck what you did, and if need be put it back to your initial setup. Is it possible there is something wrong with your MSD box?

Already did everything. But what happened in the middle is somehow a fuse got fried, and my fuel pump stopped working. I replaced the fuse, and it started working again... my engine is running really lean, so im hoping its just my fuel filter, but thats just my optomism.
