Question Bad Door sound

My passenger door has this nasty sound when you open and close it.

Ive tried all kinds of lube and grease, they work somewhat for a little while but then the scrape/squeak noise is back.

Does anyone else have this problem?
Is there anthing I can do?

vasoline is going to attract dirt and dust. go to the hardware store and find yourself a spray lubricant that dries, dry. Then you don't have to worry about it collecting all kinds of **** and wearing.

Wash the hinge area. Pressure wash if you can. I found white lithium grease in a spray can at Lowes. It dries dry and works really well so far. It comes with a nozzle tube so you direct it whaere you need it, not all over the place.

This could be very easily be the problem. I've had this happen on 3 different cars and it's loud as hell. An easy way to tell if it's doing this (other than using your eyes ) is to open and shut it slowly and feel for a tug or pop when the door passes the fender. If not, grease the thing up and hope for the best.

I have also found that white lithium grease to be very effective. I was also told by several friends who are techs and mechanics that wd-40 is good temporarily but would not be a good permanent solution because they can act as a degreaser.

wd-40 has water in it...it will rust ur hinges and make ur creeking even worse over time. id go with the white lithium...what i always used when i race dirt bikes...on swing arm and axles and wut not..my stuff never made a peep. ALSO do check to see if its bumbin the fender...makes a horrible noise. just loosin the fender...get it to where the door makes no noise..and tightin it back down

ok guys it's not hinge I know the problem, when you open your door look in the space and there will be a spring attached to a thingy that turns alittle round thing when you open and close the door. That little thing tends to stop turning. It happens with mine all the time. I don't know how to fix it but thats the problem. Try using a heavy weight grease and work it in there, wd40 won't work. Tried that and bearing grease for rollerblades.

Uh, No.

WD40

Is Water Displacement Formula 40.

It displaces water - it doesn't have any water in it.

i think fender being too far back is a factory defect, another 7 that i looked at a few weeks ago had the problem too

i had the same problem with my driver side.

the piston wasn't rolling like it was supposed to. i used carb cleaner to clean up the whole assembly in there, then hosed it with white lithium grease. works like new.

Like carl said clean the area and then white lithium grease it.

Work the door open and closed a bunch of time and then go at it again.
