Bad brakes

Im new to the amature mechanic thing i wanted to know if anyone can give me the answer to this problem. I was driving 1 nice sunny afternoon my brakes were fine great stopping until i went to park the car in the driveway i noticed a little smoke comming out of the wheelwell i thought it was normal. then started to drive the car n i had no break pressure i pump the breaks n the pressure wouldnt stay normal. i decided to call it quits. This mourning i warmed up the car drove it up and down the drive way to test the breaks and it was working fine. Can anybody tell me what happened there.

perhaps a caliper was sticking and perhaps since it was sticking and overheating, it was burning the seal on the piston and brake fluid and pressure were escaping

Since you have experienced brake failure and burning, I HIGHLY recommend you have your calipers rebuilt by a profession. Since you are lacking the knowledge do not let others hear talk you into do it yourself.

Brakes a very important part of operation a motor vehicle and should not go on without having some attention given to them.
