Bad 1/4 Time- Help

Hey all, I went to RockFalls Drag Strip yesterday and ran some horrible times. It was my first time ever going to a track... I ran 3 runs. 16.191 @ 82.33mph 16.147 83.05mph 16.098 @ 83.33mph.... The think what made me run so slow was horrible traction... i ran the stock rims and tires... Where can i get a set of slicks?
Or does my car not have enough power to run better times? '85 GSL 4.444 Ring & Pinion, K&N Filter, Short Shifter, 8.8mm Wires, Electric Fan, UnderDrive Pulleys, Rb Header, No cats A/C Smog Pump ACV. Please help, what do i need to get better times?

seem like pretty good times to me with the mods you have. not gonna get much faster than that with the stock carb untouched.

Better traction will make a big difference. I would recoomend the Directfire mod with the three coils. I have a friend with a stock port 12A and all the goodies that runs very low 15's in his 85GS.

EDIT: I forgot one thing though..He does have a Dellorto 48..

Those times don't seem to off, I think thats about what they should be. FB's are cool, but in a straight line they lack.

The 60' is a bit slow. I bet with practice you can get that closer to 2.0 (but getting below 2.0 requries decent tires, but not necessarily slicks). Taking a few tenths of the 60' should make a decent dent in your 1320.
