Is it blown and is catching on to something?

Try turning it with a ratchet backwards a couple of turns.

What happened prior to this?

If it will turn more than three shaft rotations by hand without slamming to a halt, your timing is radically incorrect, firing far too early.

Pulled dizzy and moved it a quarter of a turn. Then it fired right up! I guess when I put the pully back on, I put it on wrong. So the TDC wasn't TDC after all...lol Anyway it lives! Just needs to be tuned on a little. Should be fine till the big motor goes in. Thx!
