Back Seat, how much is it worth?

I have a CLEAN back seat, gray in color that I am thinking about selling. Looks great, with seatbelts. How much do you guys think this is worth? My friend told me he once paid 500.00 for a new back seat when he bought his first gen. I thought I remembered seeing one go for about 300-350 about a year ago on ebay. Am I on crack or can I really get this kinda money for this? I don't want to install it in my car and I don't have room to store it (way to many spare parts.......lol)

thanks

Hmm, I may try my luck at ebay with it, I won't go quite that low. It's gray cloth and probably a 9 out of 10. It looks almost new. I was carefull to get all the hardware with it also as well as the arm wrests that go on the right and left side of it. I also have the carpet that covers the rear cargo area in back of the seat. the only thing with back seats that some people may not know is you actually have to drill holes in the car to mount them. 2 (one on each side) to mount the seat and 3 more holes in the floor of the car for the seat belts. I got a major woody when I saw this seat sitting in the pick a part yard

My buddy chad sold his for $400 shipped... it was about $80 to ship it... so your original quote was pretty realistic.. about $300-350....

If you'd be living in Europe, I'd say $20, as we all throw them out To bad it'd be so ******* expensive to ship them, I could earn some money selling mine.

i would imagine in europe those ******* (******* as in back seats DUH) are running rampid like a **** at an orgy

iirc they came standard with backseats and most convert it back to its true heritage (IMO wether tru or not) as a 2 seater front engine Rear wheel drive sports car

As usual, I can store that backseat for ya including the front mount intercooler, your extra SE engine (nice for P-Port). It will match my collection of interior parts.

I gotta ask, I used to have an MGB GT with a "back seat". Literally only a small child could fit there. How much room is there really?

I sold a similar back seat on eBay about six months ago for $250. It was maybe 8 / 10 condition, and had no belts with it.

I would think $300 - $350 is not unreasonable. Wait to sell until March or April when everybody has their income tax checks back, the weather clears, and thoughts turn to working on cars.

there's just about no space at all. the rear seat was mainly there for tax reasons, as in some countries in Europe, two-seaters would pay higher taxes. small children will fit, but aren't allowed to sit there anyway. Since all children under 12 (I'm talking EU law here, since we got those backseats stock) must have safety seats (children seats or however you guys call these) and the lap-belts won't hold a childrenseat safely, there's no point. That said, my brother is over 6 feet and has been in the back of my first rx-7. My wifes sister has been there too, and she is over § feet aswell. Both only drove with us for about 10 minutes though, and getting them out was just as hard as getting them in
My car now has the seat removed, since I couldn't see the point of it.

Cool, that's what I thought and this one is REALLY NICE! Thanks for all the responces guys! I will try to at least post up some pics when I get off of my lazy butt and finish the other things on my to-do list....lol I know I've read a few old posts from people who are missing the hardware and are not sure how they go in.

Mel, I don't think I will need any help with storage for the seat But the intercooler is still yours when you want it. I've been cleaning house over here! Lots of parts have been hitting ebay.

I shoulda sat in the seat before I pulled it to see how much room but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't fit. I didn't have time for sittin around though, that was my 5th junkyard of the day and I was dead beat. I think those seats are designed for kids.
