axel question

Are the axels off my 84 gs with drums interchangeable with my 85gsl's that has discs?

Yes, they are, but I do recommend just changing out the whole rearend. But if you don't actually have the whole rearend then by all means, it should fit fine.. just remember to get the proportioning valve (master brake cylinder) because the brake system is a little different.

Im not talking the whole rear end IM talking about the axel shafts dude why would I put a non lsd into my gsl

They are,but youll have to press off the bearings to change the backing plates to match the type of axle housing/brakes your putting the axle shafts into.
Not a bad idea to install new wheel bearings anyways,but it does add to the work and cost.

Well I have a striped stud hole on my left side axel so I just wana yank it out and take one out of my 84gs.

can you put the LSD out of an 83 GSL in an 83 LE? I don't really want to go thru the whole brake swap but I want a LSD rear. (yes I realize it may sound weird but she stops fine as is, esp since I got her weighed w/ me in the car and I am down to 2380lbs)

You dont need to change the proportioning valve. In fact, I have done several SA conversions (rear only) and no complaint to date.
