Awesome New Swag

Hey Guys,

Here are the pics I promised of my awesome new swag.

- RB exhaust (couldn't get the car up to get the pics of the full thing, but it's the full Street Port exhaust)

- Sumitomo HTR-200 205/60-13 Tires

And awesome new rims care of Trochoid (we still haven't had a sunny enough day to *really* capture their sparkle and multicolour undercoatings, but those pics will have to do)

Nice!!!!

Becareful with that exhaust, I just got pulled over for it, like 20 minutes ago

They said I was spinning the tires, Im pretty sure im not going to be spinning my brand new HTR200 tires! DUH!

I got Careless Operation, and modified exhaust. WTF man!

But dont let me be a downer! Your car is looking good, thank god I already ordered those jets for you and me! lol

HAHA Matt, thats what happens when you drive your loud *** car around at 2:45 in the am. See, if your paint wasnt so damn nice you could easily say that your other car broke down and you had to drive this one that has a leak in the exhaust and needs carb work which is why it sounds so weird. They let you go every time... At least they let me go every time. Maybe I have an innocent face.

Trochoid sent me a pic of those wheels, vipernicus. Looks good.

Looks nice man! The street port exhaust is a little louder than the standard one, but not extremely so. I always thought mine sounded nice (and it does inside the car), but when I heard it when someone else was driving at an autocross I couldn't believe that it was so quiet...

I don't bother getting off the throttle when I see the heat anymore.

I just put in my new exhaust a couple weeks ago. RB Streetport, the one with two pre-silencers and the dual pipes don't merge till about the rear axle. It's flippin sweet. However, it is quite a bit louder than stock, it's about the same as my friend's room-mate's mid-size SUV which the muffler fell off of, maybe a little quieter. It sounds a heck of a lot better though. It's like a giant bumblebee. I love it.

My paint and body need a lot more work than yours though, nice work on all that, and I can see those wheels should sparkle like crazy in the sunlight.

oh they do! wheels look great in person, the prismic black reflects the colors and it's a shame that no camera can pick it up. What do you think so far of the tires? from tirerack?

I got the same tires and I love them!!!

Handle great, nice in the corners. Good control in water, which is a problem here.

I ordered mine from the local tireshop, but I know for a fact they ordered them form tirerack. It was cheaper since if I bought form the local shop , they have road hazard, free mount, etc etc.

Tires = awesome. I need a little bit of an alignment, but they grip well in corners. I can still spin them out when it rains, but I don't hydroplane at all, and they're great when it's dry out.

The exhaust sounds bloody quiet compared to many of the cars around here. Louder than stock yes, but if it's quiet enough that my crazy neighbors don't complain when I come home at 3am, it's good enough for me. I don't think I'll get any "modified exhaust" tickets that I can't talk my way out of, and my car doesn't look riced so they've got much bigger fish (civics) to fry around here.

I bought them from tirerack.com . Note to Canadians: Tirerack is very reluctant to ship to a US address if you are a Canadian Citizen.. I don't know why exactly. It took a *lot* of talking to get them to send my tires to Ogdensburg, and aparently they wanted me to sign up for "Verified by Visa", which aparently my Visa can't do.

In the end I managed to get it done though.

Looking good Jon, now get those tires dressed up. You've made a lot of progress this year, keep it up.

Next on the projects list, something that isn't mechanical for once : Stereo!

Then the ongoing collection of parts for the Ultimate 12a, which should materialize around the end of next summer

yeah, the whole camelion fade from red-to-yellow-to-green...

I find that when the sun is *really* on them, the green comes out most... but the rest of the time they look sparkly black, which is fine by me.
