bought my 7 when I was about 45 (It's my midlife crisis and I intend to enjoy it) 8 years ago. I fix it when I have to but mostly just drive it. I remember once Ace, my neighbors big *** dog that likes to rip chunks out of 1500 lb. hay bales pissed on the drivers front fender sometime during the summer. It was still there in november when I washed the car for winter. Car is 84 and has never had any rust, lucky find. Have put 30 thousand miles on it, to 125, and all original. Hey, when your car gets a little spot of rust fix it immediately, especially underneath, black rustolium is good. Use a brush if you have to especially for dings, so it's a little off, it ain't rust.

I am 32 and have been working with rotaries since I was about 20.

My cars over the years have been:

1979 X7 - my boss gave it to me for being a good employee. He called it a Christmas bonus, I called it a roach and asked for a better one (what a dick I was). That brings me to my second rotary:

Another 1979 X7

1985 GSL-SE (which I still have)

1972 RX3 (My sister crashed it and I wouldn't talk to her for months)

19 (?) R100 project which ended up being sold.

1986 X7

and those are just the rotary cars I've owned.

34 and have owned every 1st. Gen year (78-85) with the exception of the GSL-SE. Some years I've owned more then once.

Right now my daily driver is a 85' GS+L with a Street Ported 13B 4 Port with just about all the bolt-on goodies you can think of. I also have a CarTech Weber TurboKit for it that will be installed in 04'... I promise.

The following are waiting for engine transplants:

74' 2dr. RX4 very good condition in and out

77' REPU surface rust nightmare, but solid throughout

78' Rx7 RHD was running great until I popped it 2 years ago (oil starvation). Good condition in and out.

P.S. almost forgot, I also had an 88' convertible for like 2 months before I sold it.

Oooops, just remembered..... I also had an 87' which I later flipped to Boosted12A shortly after I got it

And I missed two opportunities at getting a 1st. Gen convertible (one in NJ the other in Canada) and another RHD out of NC.

I also missed out out on a running Cosmo out of TN (I think?)

......woe is me

im 19 and have been around rotaries my whole life....but i see more middle aged men riding in FB's than any other age. mostly because they probably wanted a sports car back in there younger days, and still love the first gens body style because that was there taste when they were most of our ages. plus ive noticed younger people dont like first gens style and would rather get a 3rd or 2nd gen , and when they here that they are turbo its a done deal.

Hey guys I'm 18, I've had my 84 GSL for like ... a year and a half now.. It's my 1st car, also my daily driver. It gives me alot of probems but.. I guess it's normal : The car's older then me ! lol Nevertheless, I love my rotary ! Driving boigners just isn't the same. I just LOVE the way the clucth feals, the way the 4 barrels kick in, the way the sound changes once they do, the fact that you can kick ANY car's *** in 1st AND second gear loll .. ( and I meen AnY car :P ) I LOVE the way people look at you when your driving by , 3/4 of people are like wtf is that car ? and then you have those car fanatics that go .. OHHH yeah ! check out the Wanekl NE ways, I love my car, even though it's older then me and my f*&^#@ starter has ben pissing me off in the last 2-3 days ... NE hoo, tootles

I'm 34, but I got my '79 when I was 25. Then the dang things started multiplying or something... :P (see sig)
My first car was a Fiat 128 sedan, and I've owned a variety of GM stuff along the way, too.

Aaak!
49! But a young 49. Really. 2 80 RX-7 GSs. Always wanted one since they were new. Had one since '98 in perpetual state of restoration. Finally wised up (not getting any younger!) and bought the second one in So.Cal. off ebay. 65K, 2-owner car and is like new. Still think its one of the prettiest cars ever made....

Lets see, most of us FB'ers are between the ages of 15-25. That really isn't surprising because most of us kids that like RX-7's can't afford the 5 grand or more to get a 2nd gen or the 20+ grand to get a 3rd gen. That and the looks of the FB are much better than any other RX-7. It basically defines the look of a small 2 door sports car.

Holton,

I'm 67, and I think Paul Fitzwarryne is 77.

I just added a 74 REPU to my stable of 3 FBs. Still looking for a nice SE (in the bay area).

Im 28, but ive owned more rxs than that. Ive had my fair share of FCs, and i keep coming back to the ol FB. To me it seems mazda missed the mark on the 2nd, they shouldve just kept progressing with the first.
