Yup, I've been wondering about that kit too since I haven't seen a kit where the lower sills are extended to match the widened front and rear. Would love to know who makes it or if it is custom.

Looks like some sort of mariah kit. Looks kinda like their MK 1 GT3 kit. Go to www.mariahmotorsports.com and look under 86-91 exterior parts. There is a category for race body kits there. Don't know why its not in the 79-85 section though.

think this kit with some custom made side skirts would be close enough to look just as good? http://www.iscracing.net/body_kit.htm

IMO thats in the top 5 nicest FB's in the world list... Wide but its got a look that you see know where else... And its unique as hell, only RX7 owners would have any sort of an idea what kind of car that is...

Ok...to set a few people straight. This kit was actually produced in the early 80's. It was made by a company called Pacific. They sold tons of parts for the Sa's. Ie IMSA racing flairs and front spoiler(the lower air dam that Dan H was talking about). They also sold reflectors in the back between the two taillights, turbo's, headers aftermarket seats and dash pieces etc. The list goes on and on. ot sure how many of their parts are still in circulation today.

The reason I know this is because that IMSA kit is initially what got my interested in Rex's. My father owned one and has(maybe had) a brochure that had that exact body kit. I agree not much one for wide bodies but that is by far one of my favs. There is a member that hangs out in the NW section that has a very similar kit...can't remeber his name at this moment. I will see if I can contact my father and get the brochure. If I remeber correctly it is a 40 page doument...quite informative including an article from sport car graphic mag in their aftermarket 12at setup.

I was searching for it to start a new thread for all the newer newbs to like let em see what kind of mis-guided **** can happen ( like taking kids to the morgue to see dead druggies and gang bangers ). I can't find it. I bet Jon or Carl deleted it from the archives to keep troublemakers like me from resurrecting it... purple... on Easter no less.

I have a Pacific kit, but not the IMSA one. Pacific is still in business today, but the only way to contact them is to find there phone number, call them up, and have a catalog sent to you.

I have a few of their catalogs lying around today. They have a really great warranty for their body kits. All you have to do is send all or a piece of your body kit (as long as it has the seriel number), and you get that same piece brand new for half the price. It's a Lifetime Warranty, too!

If anyone wants the phone number you can either search (because I have posted it on here before) or you can ask me and hope I remember to look for it.

No that is a rare production kit made for the 1983 gtu class mazda racers in SCCA back in the 80's. I've got the same one on my 83 (minus the side skirts) Got it from an ex mazda engineer that worked for mazda for the past 25 years or so. Will post pics soon, if my camera co-operates!
