autometer tach on my 12A how to do it?

i wanted to instal an autometer tach on my mazda 12A but dont know what wires to cut on the tach if any ad which coil to hook it to.....any help would be great...thanks...

Cut the wires as if you were hooking it up to a 4 cylinder engine.

I hooked mine to the leading coil, since I still had my stock tach in place. And it runs off the trailing ('83) I would notice any problems in the ignition circuit I would see the needle bounce.

Helped me right before a race with the car died at the grid and I got it fired back up, but notice the Autometer tach was dead, replaced the leading ignitor in 2 minutes and took 3 in the race.

Anyway its my .02¢
