I know none of us like the auto trans. But I have a friend with an 85 SE with auto trans blown and just want to know if the 1 out of an 86 will work for replacement? Can get the working 86 1 for 25 bucks. Does anyone know if it will work?? Thanks guys

 

I would say fock the auto and put a 5 speed in it. Any 5 speed except the turbo trans should work. You would need the transmission of course, the flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, clutch petal, and the slave cylinder I believe. It all just bolts in. If you need more info, do a search for automatic to manual swap.

I think the automatic will work though.
