auto engines

i have heard that the auto cars have engines with lower compression rotors thus making them good turbo canidates. is this true?

No, not in any way. All 12A's and 84-85 13B's had the same compression ratio.

Funny, I remember hearing from a COUPLE of places that 83's had HIGHER compression rotors. Of course, I always discounted this as a rumor.

he's talking about automatic transmition engines ... nothing to do with years boys ... i don't know personally but I have heard that some engines had lower compression rotors then others like the t2 for example

t2 Zenki has the lowest, T2 Kouki and the FD have the same SCR, but the FD rotors are thinner cast, and do not stand up as well to abuse. current general consensus seems to be the early model lower compression T2 rotors are better for general tuning, because the lower SCR makes for a larger safety margin.

you can turbo, or supercharge any of the different models, IIRC a couple of thelocal shops over here have been concentrateing on the US version 13b high comp rotor as a low boost high performance alternative, but the timing split under boost has to be spot on to avid detonation
