Audio in my FB

Hello, Firstly, I would want to know if 5.25 " speakers will fit in the front speaker holes. I had 4 1/2" before and I see alot of 5.25" for sell and I wonder if they will fit.

Second, I'd like to know about the best 6 x9 that are selling out there. I'm no audio specialist but I want top quality front and rear speakers for my 7. I already have boxes for my rear 6x9. Thank you.

Right now, I was thinking about buying boston accoustic speakers, but I ain't sure if they will do good.

Make a spacer, and most 5 1/4's will fit fine up front.
top quality and 6x9's don't go together, you can get some pretty good 6x9's though.
Just comes down to how much you want to spend. find a sale.
What amp will you be running the 6x9's with? even a small amp will help, also look at amplifing the 5 1/4's. deck power is not the greatest.

Go to www.crutchfield.com and get your speakers from there. I got replacement Pioneers all the way around, along with a brand new head unit, and I couldn't be happier. I can't remember what size I had for the rears, I think 6 1/2 but I do remember that no spacer was needed. BTW, Crutchfield will provide you with all necessary spacers/brackets/wiring harnesses along with your purchase. Yes, I know it's a shameless plug but I've always gone to them for my car audio stuff.

I had some memphis speakers. 6 1/2 to be exact. I had 4 in my trans am and they sounded good as hell. They came with cross overs and costed 119 a pair. I could have hooked up an amp but didn't have the money. I plan on putting those same speakers in my 7. I will also be putting speakers in the door as well. I would say go with memphis speakers. From my personal experiece they are the best sounding and handling I have ever had.

Put back the 4"1/2's But get them two ways with a moveable tweet's firing at you, Second get a pair of 1" inch tweeters cut out the center of you dash vent's (The Round Ones) Use a Soldering Gun to cut out the center vent hole. Put the tweet's there Fire them at you. If you don't use your glove boxes a lot Place the 6x9's in the top of the boxes, Place a set of 6"1/2 inch's mid sub in the back speaker ports and (1) 8" or 10" Kicker Slo B' Sub in the back firing up (Facing Front) at the hatch glass. If you can find a JL -5001- 5 Channel amp, It has a buildin X-over's. Run your 41/2's to the fronts, run the 6x9's and the 6 1/2 together on the rear (besure to put high cap on the Mid-Subs to block the highs). And the Sub on the Sub. I promise you won't need anything else.

i personally am going with old school mb quarts, before they sold out and made everything overseas

get an 8" solabaric kicker in the box kicker makes for it. nice as hell, hits harder than a lot of 10's.

I am curious about this as well.

I have completely abandoned my idea of a "big" sound system for my car.
I want to find replacement speakers that fit the stock locations with no
modifications, a small 5 channel amp, and a small 10" sub in the back that would be easily removable for any track use.

Who has a good/great speakers that fit the stock locations with no modding?
What brand and size?

I will be cutting out a hole in one of my storage bins and put an 8" solabaric kicker. It will be a while since I have to put my engine in and all that goos stuff. I will post pics after though. A kicker is the perfect size and it isn't to much bass.

Well see I am also thinking about the car I am in. An Rx7 not a very popular car, and to have more bass than the big tymers just doesn't really go with this sporty little car. I will leave that to the pimped out civics and stuff. This car was made to run and run hard. That what I will stick with. A little bump is good enough for me, I dont plan on nusting out the back hatch.

Crutchfield Every purchase comes with completed clip-in wiring harnesses and adapters (altho I didn't have to use the adapters with my replacements )

I recommend Pioneer speakers. Always great sound. And having an amp makes it sound better.

x 3.

And, if you make your spacer correctly, you can even get a better soundstage. The stock speaker location sucks donkey dick.

Not to sound like a KNOW IT ALL !!!! But I gave you the best thing to do on the first page. You can have the bass you want in what I told you. Hey! Just because i'm a Preacher does'nt mean I don't know about bass. audioBahn makes a 6X9 with a removeable Center Tweets that handle 240 watts. Put then in the glove boxs behin d the seats. Keep it all stock! And your not going to find to many 5'1/4's or 6'1/2's that will fit flush They do make them. To fix this take 4 1x1 pcs. of Dyno matt cut them to fill the gaps and put some top mount 5"1/4's in Or as said before 6" midsub's. If I knew how to put pics up here i'd show you how it would look. Oh! I'm also designing a custom fit sub box for FB's only! They'll hold (3)- 8's or (2) 10's . they'll be custom made to your spec of your sub. there made Round ,Square, And Triangle.

I guess i will sound in on this. If you pay good money, a 4 1/2" will be nice up front. 30 minutes of work and you can fit 5 1/4" speakers up front no problem, just a little trimming. You will have to move your hood latch tho (Just turn it side ways!) As for subs, I've done it all: 2 12" subs in custom fiberglass enclosure in the storage bin area (hit hard as hell) you will need subs that can handle about .65 cuft each, so not very much space.

I have a 15" monster now in the rear tire area (1.8 cuft) and it is a beast!

I just recently built a sub box for my friend that holds a 8" that slides into the storage bin area, all you have to do is take out your storage hatch and this slides in. If 82transam can post some shots of it, I did not take any pictures.

You can always make kickpanels on your doors! I have 5 1/4" Alpine in mine.

Door pods have felt stretched over a MDF ring on a masonite board, then fiberglass resin was spread on the felt. Since they are only small speakers, there was no need for fiberglass mesh. After it dryed, I used some bondo to smooth it out, then covered it in carpet. I wish I had pictures of the process, but I guess i was lazy.
