******** and dents

about a week ago someone backed into my car while trying to parallel park. a suv no doubt, because they rode up onto the body panel just below the hood. and left a gorgeous dent right under the mazda emblem. the reason i post is i was debating going with that 'paintless' dent removal. which i had priced at about 100-150 give or take. i've heard its not guaranteed to make it like new. so my other option is to have it stripped, beaten and bondo'ed. i was thinking of having it repainted anyway because of high speed stone nicks. was just wondering if anyone has gone the 'paintless' route and how it turned out. was also worried that if i do have it stripped and repainted that i'd have to worry about it matching.

i just want whats going to get it out. my car seems to be depressed ever since. i'm afraid she'll never be the same. molesters. didn't even leave their info.

was thinking about going back and finding the suv with red paint under its bumper and take a bat to it. or maybe scrawl 'mazda' into its hood with my car key.

danke

I like the idea of keying mazda into their hood. As for the paintless removal I've heard mixed reviews. Seeing as your car has such low miles I'll assume its got original paint. Would be nice to keep it all original. I say try the paintless removal.

i'm just worried that if i try and have it popped out. that i won't be satisfied and end up having it re-done anyway. i don't know if i have the money to do both. blast.

i'd like to be able to see into the future.

so would i. Anyway, you should be able to match the paint pretty well. At least color wise. The new paint is gonna have more shine, and hold its shine a lot longer. as long as you keep the rest of the car waxed and shiny it would match fine.

Paintless dent repair all depends on the quality of the person doing the work. They have schools for it, but most people good at it have made their own tools and have a lot of experience. The paintless dent guys that work all the car dealerships in my town are pretty formidable, there's not much they can't make 99% better than it was before.

No way I would let an unexperienced person touch my car-the only dings my guys weren't able to get out of my 'vert were the ones made by some un-experienced previous attempt at PDR.

Find out what company the local car dealerships use and go with them-you would be surprised what they can repair. Do you have any pics of your damage?

I had the Paintless guys work on my black pickup for hail damage and door dings.
When I got it back it was perfect. I could not see any evidence of the old dings.
However they could not do much to a long, shallow dent that happened when I rubbed up against a tree.
Take your car to one of two of them and see what they say they can do.

Go to junkyard and buy a nose panel. I've found some that suprisingly needed little bodywork. But of course you're best off stripping the paint off and bringing it to the paint shop.

I had the guys around here fix and paint the front bumper on my van. They matched the paint color to a "t" and I can't even tell the difference other than the dents are gone. But these guys are dent and paint experts. Make sure that whoever does it knows what their doing is all!!!
