Just looking for a test pipe, exhaust shop told me they'd do it for $50 or i can buy one online for $45...but i'd rather have something used for cheaper.

 

So, an exhaust shop told you that they would actually do a cat replacement pipe?

All the exhaust shops I've talked with referenced an EPA reg with a $10,000 fine for removing a cat, so they won't do it. If they'll do it, have them do it and point the cops their way if you get called on it. (keep your receipt) I think it's worth the $50.00 bucks.

Who's carl? i need to talk to him, i can get a test pipe online for $45 but still... $45 is a bit much in my oppinion if i had a welder i'd make one myself for $5.

 

ok if that shop will make one for 50 bucks ill send them 50 so i can get one get me their email and all that **** so i can get myself one!
or let me know where the hell you find them for 45 i cand find one that cheap anywhere.

 

I'm not talking about the full test pipe, just the one for the main cat.

 

why would you only do it for the main cat?
the one i have goes from manifold to the stock midpipe
i need one more for an 83 like that!

 

Dam that makes me think how small is the town you live in $50. for a busted grill and maybe some broken bones isnt worth it where I come from..


I beilive if someone takes thier time and riskin it to make you a $50. part you dont rat them out.

The reason i only want it for the main cat is because i've got a header that took out the first two... what i'm going to do is cut a pipe to the right length and buy to flanges and have a shop weld on the flanges... welding should only be $15.

 

lol i went to a closed exhaust shop and just picked up some piping i need to make this test pipe... i hurry up and throw it in my hatch get in my car and look back to make sure nothing is coming i put it in gear and quickly hit the gas while looking back and smash into their building.

lol, yeah, seriously... didn't do anything to my car but dented their building and ripped off their gutter drainpipe, but anyway the pipe i stole wasn't long enough and i'm still looking for a cheap test pipe.

holy ****... thats a great idea.. the local muffler shop here always has piles of scrap piping/mufflers/glasspack/tips on the side of their building...

I have a 10 foot peice of 2.5 in galvinized pipe at my shop I used when I pulled my engine out of my car I have NO use for..

Maybe Ill cut down my exhast now..and use this to run my dual exhast off my roadrace header,then "Y" it off at the rear end..somehow..

 

Someone has to know where i can get one of these...
