Anyone run an Edelbrock carb?
I know I thread once about running an Edelbrock but I can't remember the details. I think I can pick one real cheap but don't really know if a stock one will work properly. From what I here the problems come in the upper RPM range. Would like to find someone that has one working to see what obstalces need to be overcome to make it work right. Any input appreciated!

It'll work fine. You'll need a holley intake manifold or to drill your nikki manifold to make it fit.
And of course you're gona need to block of your OMP and premix.
And possibly a selection of jets and the patience to tune the thing well.

The float bowl on an edelbrock carb won't be tapped for an omp line and the throttle linkage won't have a hook up for the OMP rod. You could mod the carb to acomodate these things, but it is easier to just block off the omp and premix gas.
OMP's are a pain in the *** anyway.

Make sure it's not WAY to big for your car.
I'd say anything over (maybe) 650cfm (depending on your other mods) would be overkill and you might have trouble making it run right.

I have 2 holleys, a Barry grand and an Edelbrock. The edelbrock is the smoothest and most reliable of the bunch. For a stock or streetported 12a I would suggest a 550cfm. Get the book and study, it is soo easy to tune. You change metering rods rather than jets to tune, quick, clean and easy.
