Not going to happen. I think the biggest missconception when people buy FB's is that since they are an RX-7, there is tons of bolt on parts for it. There is a lot of things that you have to custom make for them. I have not yet seen a bolt on intercooler, or even one that installs easily for an FB.

i know a starion/conquest is a nice size, but you do need to do some piping and mounting work

Those are crap. Pure crap. Good for the Honda boys. I had one on my Eclipse for 2 days. It raised the spool up rpm from 2000 to 3500.

I think surface area is more important than thickness. Unless you can get both.

Ive seen a couple of cars here with a Volvo intercooler. Probably be the best bet. Cheap also.

Here's some pics of mine.

As far as design trade-offs this one is about as good as it gets. I was leary of obstructing the radiator/oil cooler--especially in the hot Texas summers--so this Porsche 944 FMIC fit perfect. Perhaps not the best IC but fits well and it's 5" thick. My guess this IC is more designed towards sustained high speed operation as opposed to stop and go. It's a bar and plate unit and can be had off ebay from $140-250.

Anything you put in an FB is going to be alot of work--unless you don't have A/C, PS, and your battery is already in the back--then it's easy. I have everthing installed in the stock locations.
