Anyone know what this is?

Its on the tranny. Some kind of cover?





Now the tranny with out the cover thingy.





Its an SE tranny.

Looks like a vent or a cooling air scoop depending on how it was installed.

i think thats a cover for the starter, but i'm only guessing

makes sense...

what do you think?

Block it off - Prevent dirt an oils getting to the clutch.

Put it back on - There was a LOT of crud in before the pic, all of which could have been on the last clutch.

Leave it as is

dark - the starter is @ the bottom this is about 10 o'clock on the tranny

Looks like it's there to just kinda vent your clutch and allow debris to escape the housing. I would keep it on, unless you think your leaking oil in there that could kill your clutch.

that piece secures the main battery cable to the starter.
