Anyone know how many GSL-SEs were brought to the US?

Could have sworn I've seen this before, but I can't find it now. Just wondering if someone knew this.

yeah thats what I meant 8,000 in 85, and like 7500 in 84? still not totally sure tho...

Some 110,000 Rx-7 1984-5 models were sold in the USA but unfortunately Mazda never published data on different versions.

There was a sales department forecast that 15-20% of sales would be gsl-se, a target of up to 22,000. Sales according to informal sourses was that 1884 was above target, but down in 1985 as dealers get rid of old models and people going for the top end of the market held back waiting for the Gen 2.

Therefore, a figure of about 17,000 would be a good estimate. Trying to get figures from Japanese sources is a bit complex as data was often total North American market.
